Unfortunately due to lack of interest there will be no summer social event next Sunday, 1 August. Only 4 members wanted to attend so it was decided that it should be cancelled.

The Odiham Church Fete took place over the weekend in the fabulous grounds of Hatchwood House. The short tennis court at this year's Fete was very popular and helped raise some extra money for the Church charity. The glorious sunny weather helped to make this year's event a great success with many stalls completely sold out. Among the day's highlights was the annual Chinook helicopter from RAF Odiham which landed in the back field for everyone to explore.

This event will be similar to last year - lunch, tennis, croquet, boules and is open to all members. It will cost £5 per head to include lunch and drinks. If you wish to attend, please contact Pam Verdon, verdons@verdonet.org.uk. If there are insufficient numbers this event will not take place. A decision will be made on 25 July and all people who have shown interest will be contacted that day.

The Parish Council are now requesting that responses to their Sport and Leisure Strategy Questionnaire are submitted before June 21st.

Odiham Tennis Club response to the Parish Council's Sport and Leisure Strategy 2010 Questionnaire

There will be two summer holiday camps this year in August. Please see coaching section for the form. Juniors between 7 and 14 can come along for 1 day or more between 9:30 a.m and 12:30 am during weeks commencing 2nd August and 23rd August.

Due to a security breach, the code for the padlock will be changed at 9.00pm on Friday, 7 May. The new code is CODE B. This is listed on the receipt which members received together with their shoe tag when they paid their membership fees.

The Bank Holiday Tournament was well supported with 11 ladies and 5 men taking part.

A busy fun afternoon was had, with lots of tennis taking place.

The two courts were continually busy, without a break, from 2 o'clock until 5 o'clock. Without doubt this was made possible by the friendly atmosphere created by all of the players.

During the course of the afternoon a buffet was available which had been provided by Pam, and very much appreciated by all.

The were 4 rounds, each round comprising of 8 games, which meant everybody played 32 games.

At their meeting on February 8th 2010 the Parish Council agreed to set up a working party to consider the development of the Council's Sports and Leisure Strategy. It was agreed that there was a need to a) consider all the providers in the Parish and b) ascertain the needs and wishes of the residents.

Junior Ladder League Summer 2010

The very successful junior ladder league will recommence on Saturday 24th April and finish on Sunday 12th September.
The league is open to all juniors in school year 7 up to and including year 11. There will be a Trophy for the winner, another Trophy for the junior who has played the most matches and medals for all participating players who play 4 or more matches.

This year the OTC Committee has decided to drop any entrance fee for this League so all you have to do is registrar with me and turn up and play.

The Mens B Team was promoted to Division 4 of the Basingstoke Winter League after winning the Division 5 title in 2008-9. Interestingly the Odiham Team (The Club had only one mens team in those days) won the same title in 2003-4.

Results in the higher division have been mixed with one win, one draw and two losses in the pre Christmas period. The team has just two matches remaining this winter: a home match against Mortimer on Monday February 8th and a, yet to be rearranged, match away against Totally Tennis.
